What is my pickup time & location?
We have many different pickup locations for you to choose from, in and around Hobart and Bruny Island. When booking, use our interactive map to work out which pickup location is right for you.
Check your email confirmation, and if you are still unsure, email us at bookings@bis.digitalink.com.au.au with your name and booking date or call 0361443045 to speak to one of our friendly staff.
What should I bring with me on tour?
We recommend bringing a water bottle, camera, small day bag and a rain jacket if rain is forecast. We also recommend guests wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather. Bruny Island can often be cooler than Hobart.
Can I bring luggage with me on tour?
Please leave your larger luggage at your accommodation. We unfortunately do not have space for suitcases on the bus and only have space for each guest to have one small day bag or backpack with them.
Are meals included in the tour price?
Yes, morning tea, lunch and produce tastings are included in the tour price. This includes:
- Oysters, Bruny Island Cheese and freshly baked bread for morning tea
- Bruny Island Honey Tastings
- Bruny Island Chocolate and Fudge tasting
- One-course lunch at Hotel Bruny
Can I fly out of Tasmania after my tour?
Yes, if your flight is after 8pm. We aim to arrive back in Hobart between 5pm-5.30pm.
Can I bring a drone with me on tour?
Please note that there are many areas of Bruny Island where drone usage is not permitted. We do not recommend or encourage guests to bring a drone with them.
What’s the weather like in Tasmania?
Tasmania’s weather is just as unique as its scenery, often experiencing what the locals call ‘four seasons in one day’. The Australian Bureau of Meteorology has up-to-date weather information available. Visit Cape Bruny Weather for a more accurate weather forecast for Bruny Island.
What happens in case of bad weather?
Tours will operate in all weather unless there is an extreme weather warning and or safety concerns. If we do cancel a tour due to severe weather, a refund will be given.
Do you take group bookings?
Our buses can accommodate up to 20 guests per bus, with a full capacity of over 100. Please contact us at bookings@bis.digitalink.com.au.au if you would like to make a group booking.
Do you cater for people with limited mobility?
Our tours have been designed to limit the amount of walking involved and offer alternatives where walking is required:
The Truganini Lookout
There are 279 stairs up to the top of the Truganini Lookout at the Neck Reserve; however, at ___ stairs, there is one lookout. There is also a flat boardwalk out to the beach if you wish to avoid stairs altogether.
Cape Bruny Lighthouse
From the car park, it is a short 5–10 minute walk uphill to the entrance of the Lighthouse. Inside the lighthouse, there are 72 steps with a handrail to reach the balcony.
Views from the base of the Lighthouse are still breathtaking, and there is the option to explore the Cape Bruny Lighthouse Museum if you do not want to walk up the stairs in the lighthouse.
Please contact us if you are unsure if this tour is suitable for you.
How many people are on each tour?
Our comfortable air-conditioned buses seat a maximum of 20 guests and one of our wonderful tour guides.
Will I see wildlife?
Whilst we see wildlife most days on tour, we cannot guarantee it. Our tour guides do their best to find white wallabies and other wildlife, but it is not always guaranteed.
I have a dietary requirement; can I still join the tour?
We cater to all dietary requirements or food allergies. Please include any dietary requirements or food allergies at the time of booking.
